It happens to almost everyone visiting Ubud. You spend the morning at the Sacred Monkey Forest or exploring Ubud Palace. Somewhere between the temples and the monkeys, hunger strikes. You pull out your phone, look for a vegan restaurant in Ubud, and see a long list of places scattered throughout the town. You have no idea which ones are actually close to you. So let’s keep it simple. If you are anywhere between the Monkey Forest and Ubud Palace, you are already within walking distance of Wild, our fully vegan restaurant on Jl Sugriwa in the center of Ubud. This short guide shows you exactly how to find us from both landmarks, what to order when you get here, and why so many travelers make us a regular stop during their time in Ubud.

How close are we, exactly?
Wild is located in the heart of Ubud. It takes about five minutes to walk from Ubud Palace. If you start from the entrance of the Monkey Forest, it's roughly a ten-minute walk. If you're coming from a class at The Yoga Barn, we're just five minutes away as well. This location is more important than it seems. Ubud can get hot, and after wandering around temples or avoiding monkeys for a few hours, the last thing you want is a long trek or a scooter ride just to find a good plant-based meal. From either landmark, you can be enjoying a cold kombucha before the sweat dries.
Coming from the Monkey Forest
The Monkey Forest is typically a morning or midday visit. Afterward, lunch is the next obvious step. Walk north from the forest entrance along Monkey Forest Road toward the town center. Continue past the football field, and you will reach Jl Sugriwa in about ten minutes. The walk is enjoyable, with small shops and galleries lining the way. Here's a tip from experience: keep your snacks hidden until you're out of the forest. The monkeys are quick and have strong opinions about visible food. It's better to arrive at our tables hungry and let us take care of everything else.
Coming from Ubud Palace
From the palace and the main market area, we are even closer. Head east and you will reach Jl Sugriwa in five minutes. Many guests stop by for breakfast before the palace and market become crowded or come to us in the late afternoon after exploring. This is when the streets around the palace fill up for the evening dance performances.
What to order in Wild Vegan restaurant inn Ubud
Everything at Wild is completely plant-based. There’s no meat, dairy, or eggs in any dish, drink, or dessert. But we aren’t the type of vegan restaurant in Ubud that only serves salads. Our idea centers on food that heals, using local ingredients and medicinal plants, without tasting like medicine. If it’s your first visit, start with the Signature Vegan Burger. The patty contains beetroot, carrot, cabbage, oats, and garlic, served in a green spirulina bun. It has quietly become the dish people keep coming back for. If you want something Indonesian, try the tempeh potato steak. This hearty dish features fermented soy tempeh, which is one of Indonesia's oldest and healthiest foods. The pulled jackfruit burger surprises those who insist jackfruit cannot taste like that. For drinks, we make our own kombucha and fresh tropical coolers like guava mint. And make sure to save room for dessert: all of our raw desserts are made without white sugar, so you can finish your meal without a crash afterwards.
Prices and practical details
Wild is an affordable restaurant. You can create a plate for a few euros, and even a full meal with a drink and dessert remains low-cost by Ubud standards. We think healthy vegan food should not cost a fortune. If you prefer to eat at your villa after a long day, we also deliver through Grab and Gojek. You can order anything on the menu right to your door anywhere in the Ubud area.
